Why should I see a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist Dietitian?Someone with diabetes would be better served by a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) who is also a Registered Dietitian because they bring expertise in nutrition and diabetes management. This means they don't just help with what to eat—they understand how food, medications, blood sugar levels, physical activity, stress, and other factors all work together. A CDCES dietitian can provide personalized, practical strategies to manage blood sugar, prevent complications, and reduce overwhelm. They're also trained to support behavior change, simplify complex information, and help patients feel more confident in their care. It's like having a coach who understands the science and the real-life challenges of living with diabetes.
